To get a bit more activity on the Forum, and give people something to check-out, I thought I'd post links to a few tracks that are favourites of memers of the class.

Here's one from tonights class.

Hi Beckster. I was promised it for my last birthday by my sister but it never materialised. Instead I think she spent the money on essentials that she desperately needed (handbags I expect !).

I do listen to it on GROOVESHARK.COM which is a good place to listen to stuff before you buy it, and also a place to discover new and obscure stuff (lots of Richard Cheese on there). It's totally free too which is great if you're poor, or tight, or in my case both ! :taz:

Time for another favourite .......

I think this should perhaps be M.A.S.'s adopted anthem as it seems to be so popular with so many people. I was amazed when I found out who it was by. I love the video for it too. Hope you enjoy it :)

Nice one Jenz. :P

Here's an old favourite that used to get played a lot. I know there's a few people in the class that really like it.

The group are quite an interesting bunch too. They are one of the 'neo swing' groups that appeared in the early 90's swing revival but they do have quite an authentic feel to them due to rumours of gangster type goings on, feuds, cash embezzlement, court cases, etc. They once described their style as 'Gangster Bop', perhaps as an alternative to the 'Gangster Rap' that was in the headlines at the time :soldier:

And there's even a bit of dancing in the video !

A very recent find that is becoming popular.

The DJ from Torronto (nice guy), played this at the end of the Balboa weekend social and it was quite funny to see a number of people getting excited about it and saying "Quick find out who it is !".

One of those very modern tunes with a bit of a vintage feel that seems to work well. Seems popular with with the 6-beat enthusiasts.

We discovered only last night that our beloved DJ, 'Swing Meister Duncan', has it hidden away in his music vaults.

I absolutely LOVE this track. There's so much to play with. I want to do our next routine to this one! Let's have a funky swing and balboa mix, woo!
