I'm just vaguely curious* how we all ended up here...how did you find out about mad about swing and what made you come along?

I met Simon outside of swing and he raved about the awesomeness of lindy hop and I've always been disappointed at how epicly boring the "dancing" that goes on in nightclubs is, I wanted to see if I could learn something more interesting

how about the rest of you swing cats?

Edward

*partly for a top sekrit project to figure out how to help people running clubs (like our glorious leaders Duncan and Louise) kick ass

Buenos tardes Eduardo!
i came to swing after going to a festival, and me and matt were watching a bluesy rock n roll band called 'memo Gonzales and the Bluescasters' and lamenting the fact that we didn't really know how to dance to it. I suggested finding a dance class of some kind, and by a crazy coincidence, Mad about Swing was having its very first class about 3 weeks later! Matt was on holiday, so i went alone, and was hooked!!
thats it really. i was pretty obsessed from the word Go!
ps - they do kick ass, dont they? :P

I used to go to a Salsa kind-of-dance-but-more-like-an-exercise class! Which I enjoyed but then the teacher stopped doing it and I was disappointed.
Then Matt (the one who is my brother!) said 'Hey, I've been going to Swing, you should come bet you would like it'.
So I did!
And a year later - I am LOVING it!!!!

Woooooo!!!

John always wanted to do Jive and when I first met Teri (Who was Auditing the business I worked at), she told me that Jive was ok but the nearest good class was exeter. I thought going to exeter every week sounded a bit crazy and then she said well you sould come try lindy. We went to last years barbican jazz and blues festival to see what all the fuss was about and loved the look of it....

I think the lady teacher we have is good but the man is alway makes rude comments and generally talks alot ;)
